Veterinary Care Where It’s Needed Most

Compassionate Veterinary Care

Sustainable Animal Welfare

Stronger Communities

Welfare Animal Guardians (WAG) is a veterinary-led nonprofit organization based in the Cayman Islands, dedicated to providing accessible veterinary care and sterilization services to animals in underserved communities across the Caribbean.

Who We Are

Welfare Animal Guardians (WAG) connects local and international veterinarians with communities that lack access to essential animal healthcare. Through coordinated outreach, education, and collaboration with rescue groups, we work to improve animal health, reduce overpopulation, and support the people who care for them.

Founded and led by veterinary professionals, WAG is built on the belief that animal welfare and community wellbeing go hand in hand.

Our Mission

To deliver accessible, ethical, and sustainable veterinary care—particularly sterilization services—to animals in underserved communities, while strengthening local capacity and promoting long-term animal welfare solutions throughout the Caribbean.

What We Do

Accessible Veterinary Care

We coordinate basic veterinary services for stray animals, rescued animals, and pets belonging to financially underprivileged families.

Spay & Neuter Programs

We actively promote sterilization through education, referrals to low-cost programs, and hands-on coordination with veterinary professionals to reduce overpopulation humanely and effectively.

Veterinary Network Support

We build and maintain a trusted network of local and international veterinarians to support rescue groups and community-based animal welfare initiatives.

Community Outreach

Through education and collaboration, we empower communities with knowledge, resources, and access to care that create lasting impact.

Our Impact Promise

WAG is committed to allocating the maximum possible percentage of our funding directly to animals in need—prioritizing hands-on care, sterilization services, and meaningful outreach over administrative overhead.

How We’re Structured

WAG is governed by two founding directors and supported by appointed trustees who oversee:

  • Secretary: Governance, records, and compliance
  • Treasurer: Financial oversight and reporting
  • Operations Support: Outreach logistics and coordination

This streamlined structure ensures accountability, transparency, and mission-driven decision-making.

Our Values

  • Veterinary-Led & Ethical Care
  • Transparency & Accountability
  • Non-Discrimination & Inclusion
  • Community-Focused Solutions
  • Animal Welfare Without Compromise

WAG does not engage in political campaigns and operates solely to advance animal welfare through charitable action and advocacy.

Our legal team is committed to achieving the best possible results in every case.
